Austin Reynolds always wanted to be a firefighter but an accident when he was 18 killed that dream. Life as a chef, creating wonderful spicy food, fills that void. His monthly visits to feed the hungry firefighters and paramedics of Station 58 help as well. On one of those visits, he meets someone and is instantly attracted.
FBI agent Conrad “Rad” Strauss is on the hunt for a serial killer who tortures and then burns his victims alive. While he rarely finds time for activities outside of work, the need to fulfill the Dom side of him takes him to a BDSM club where he and Austin find they have more than firefighting in common.
As their attraction heats up, so does the pressure from the killer known as The Artist. For he has his eyes on Austin and unless Conrad can stop him, his lover is about to go up in flames.

This second book in the Steel Door series is just as exciting as the first book, the Bind That Ties. Thianna Durston has written a fast paced thriller that brings Austen and Conrad together in a mutually enjoyable BDSM relationship.
Conrad is the only Dom who has taken the time and an interest in doing scenes with Austen that take into consideration Austen's physical limitations with his weakened leg. They are a perfect match.
I hope there will be more stories in this exciting Steel Door series.

Excellent love story! Loved how it was written around cooking, fire department and hot men. Excellent writing and storytelling! Loved the emotions throughout the story. Great suspense.

This is my second favorite story in the DFR Kindle World. I was a little apprehensive about the BDSM club, but the story was pretty well written. The men were hot and likable. We have Austin, a chef who wanted to be a firefighter until his leg was injured. He repays the men of the firehouse by cooking for them once a month. This is where he meets the FBI agent tracking a serial killer. The story is gripping. The bad guy is so creepy. I'd look for more books by this author.
I received an advance copy for review.
Although this is the second book in the steel door series it can easily be read as a standalone. Austin and Conrad story is full of heat and suspense. It's a well written book that combines M/M romance and BDSM. Well that's a short story the twists and turns keep going thoroughly engaged and enthralled right to the very end.
